Drop Table

This collection explores the balance between expressive form and everyday practicality, taking shape in an organic dining table and chair.

The Drop Table is defined by continuous, flowing lines that resolve in a subtle drop shape, with visible Sam Maloof joints as a tribute to traditional craftsmanship. These joints are not only structural but also form a visual element of the design. The generous proportions of the table, with a wide and unobstructed space for chairs, seats 4 to 6 people comfortably.

The design aims to balance functionality with visual interest derived from form rather than added details.

In 2026, the collection will be expanded with an organic bench, a lounge chair, and a side table in the same design language.

Materials

The Drop table is crafted entirely from timeless American black walnut, a material I have always been drawn to. Using solid hardwood ensures both strength and longevity, allowing the table to be enjoyed for generations.

Three discreet metal bars are recessed beneath the tabletop to prevent warping, carefully integrated so as not to interfere with the design. The surface is treated with Rubio Monocoat, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood while keeping it easy to maintain.
